about

a collection of field recordings from May to my 28th birthday in September 2020.

it's been years since I have uploaded here,
yet I have revisited these albums
like diaries time and time again.
the moments of hope gleam through
and guide me like signposts.
toward the home which beckons
from within a life in context,
of the bigger picture.

the journey outward & the return,
have played out like tapestry.
the many dramas and tragedies,
the comedies and epics,
all seem as though a waking dream.
from which,
I am finally awake.

acoustic guitar and vocals by Mitchell Langdon
+ additional guitar on "the dream that things are within reach" by Randy Enns

recorded remotely by Mitchell Langdon in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in various rooms of the legendary Museum of Natural Mystery.
Additional recordings captured in Algonquin Provincial Park.

This album is dedicated to the memory of Holly Ellsworth-Clarke, as well as her family: Dave, Greta, Kate & Caleb, and her longtime boyfriend / my roommate Randy Enns.

Holly was one of the greatest musicians & humans I have ever known. We all feel the power & residue of her presence in the walls of this house, the Museum of Natural Mystery, which is being torn down on April 1st 2021. The visions and sounds of her rehearsing in the boiler room beneath our living room are still something I often experience. As the demolition occurs, I wish her spirit peace, and I hope you will all listen to her songs, to keep the memory alive.
